    Substitution for TP 5850?

    Hello all.

I am looking into a motor for my F1 hull.
TP 5850 is known to work good, but what about MBP motors? I have heard some rumors regarding them.
Should be just as good, but with more power.

Anybody who has experience with MBP motors?

    AW: Substitution for TP 5850?

    Hello FRANK,

witch TP5850 is it, V1 or V2 you would compare to other Motors? There is a big different at Rotorside. When you wanna compare the motors, there must be clearness. The MBP Motors are in my Eyes SSS Motors with other longer Rotors and the Quality of TP is not better than worser. The MBP have a higher AMP-draw for sure because of the longer Rotors in a small Can.

    I would try a SSS 5694 ore 56104 for a 1/4 F1 Tunnel ore an TP 5850 V1 with a matching KV.

    Hello Alexander :)

    Its a V1. I am thinking of 785, 800 or 850KV and 2x10S.
Should give me between 29000 and 31500 rpm.

With open vent end caps, flat spot on the shaft and V1 two-body can.

    AW: Substitution for TP 5850?

    Hello FRANK,

the V1 is the better choice, yes. You wanted to show us some pictures from the boats. Did you start building up the hull?

Re: AW: Substitution for TP 5850?

    Thats is settled then.
TP 5850 V1 it is .. Just need to decide on KV rating then.
Is Open vent end caps a good choice, or should i go for Closed instead?

Actually i got 3x 1/4 F1 hulls waiting for some build action, but my wife and i are in the middle of moving into i new house, so packing all our stuff down and moving it, takes all my spare time.
But i will be starting the build soon.
I am getting my own workshop, so lots of space for building boats. 3,5x8,2 meters of space

Is it okay to buy from http://www.tppowereurope.com or should i go for the main US site?

The European site seems easyer to use.

    AW: Substitution for TP 5850?

If the motor is on stock, no problem. But if not there might be a long delivery time (6-8 weeks). They will made the motors on request directly in china.
